My Story of Healing from Endometriosis

healing endometriosis naturally using yoni steaming, castor oil packs, and yoni eggs

In 2011, I had my first baby, my sweet boy Dylan. I was the tender age of 17 when I had him, I didn’t know much about holistic health or even motherhood for that matter. Little did I know, this would be where it all started. I craved a natural birth with my son, but I didn’t have one. I always had the desire to live more holistically, but I didn’t quite have the resources or support. I found myself in school for massage therapy and Chinese medicine shortly after Dylan was born. About one year after my sons birth I began having painful periods and even more noticeable - painful sex. Like most women would, I made an appointment with my OBGYN. After describing the symptoms to her and receiving a vaginal sonogram, I was told that I have endometriosis. I was also told that there is no real way to cure this.

What’s endometriosis?

It’s when the endometrium (lining of the uterus) is growing outside of the uterus, creating scar-tissue, or build-up of endometrium. The uterus is lined with endometrial tissue and this lining is called the endometrium. Your body grows a new endometrium with each menstrual cycle to prepare for a fertilized egg. Endometriosis is the culprit for about 30-50% of fertility challenges. It can cause scarring on the uterus and fallopian tubes and the endometrium can become so thick that the fertilized egg cannot plant itself in the lining on the uterus.

What did I do?

Needless to say, I wouldn’t take that for an answer and began looking for answers in the holistic health realm, since westernized medicine was failing me, yet again! At the time, I had a professor in Chinese Medicine who was also an Acupuncturist and began seeing me for sessions. Well, she changed my life.

Jade Egg

First, she introduced me to the jade eggs - an Ancient Chinese method to pelvic floor exercises. I began using my jade egg a few times a week to strengthen and tone my pelvic floor. Oftentimes, women who experience endometriosis, also have a pelvic floor issue - whether it be that the muscles/tissues are too tight or too loose. Pelvic floor exercises can help alleviate pain associated with endometriosis. So I was all in on this healing method! I even created a business around it some years later selling yoni eggs (which I have since sold).

Castor Oil Packs

She also recommended that I begin using castor oil packs. Castor oil has the ability to penetrate deep in the body and break down scar tissue, circulate blood (which promotes healing), and stimulates lymphatic drainage. The castor oil can soften the scar tissue, causing it to eventually break down and even reverse the damage done from having endometriosis - amazing right??

V-steaming

The last thing she recommended I do, along with frequent castor oil packs and jade egg exercises, I was v-steaming (or yoni steaming) four times a month for about 25 minutes each time. The herbs found in my v-steam blend are amazing for increasing blood flow, cleansing the uterine lining after menstruation, detoxing the womb, relaxing the pelvic muscles, and relieving pain and cramping associated with endometriosis. You can read more here to learn about v-steaming from home.

The results

Well, nine short months later, I went back to the OBGYN for a follow up on the endometriosis. It was safe to say at that point, that there were no signs of endometriosis. The pain I was experiencing subsided only a few months after doing everything my acupuncturist was telling me to do. I knew in my gut that I was healed, but seeing the face of disbelief on my OBGYN’s face was the icing on the cake. She couldn’t believe it, but surely, there was no more scar tissue and cysts.

I am forever grateful to God, His creation of nature, and my sweet acupuncturist who gently and lovingly guided me through this process. I will forever shout it from the rooftops that, YES - you can healing naturally from endometriosis!
